I’ve Never Been Able To Avoid The Oversized LV Handbags Hole Trap

By my estimation, the Grammy Awards awlays have the weirdest red carpet of all the major awards shows, and the Awards went on to uphold that tradition in spite of some odd dress code restrictions placed on attendees by the fun-haters at Plenty of people found ways to skirt those restrictions (ahem, J.Lo), but thankfully, none of the rules but any kind of limits on handbags. For reasons I don’t entirely understand, though, a lot of celebs at Sunday night’s ceremony tossed their bags to their handlers before taking to the red carpet for photos. That’s a little bit lame, but it didn’t stop us from sifting through all of the paparazzi pics and picking out a few stars with some truly noteworthy evening bags to highlight. (Speaking of noteworthy – based on the pictures, it would seem that I am more famous than at least 30% of the people who attended the Grammys, which makes me wonder whether my invitation might have gotten lost in the mail.)I always look forward to Rebecca Minkoff’s runway show. Since Minkoff first took to Fashion Week, the buzz around her has grown, and her show and namesake brand have exploded as well. Rebecca’sLouis Vuitton UK Outlet downtown girl took a voyage into the future this season, when a trip to the moon combined with a sophisticated grunge attitude. Even though Rebecca Minkoff is known for her bags, her outerwear is a force to be reckoned with and comes in a close second as my favorite category from the designer. While I’d be thrilled to wear anything from Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2013, there was one coat and bag that caught my eye and I’d love to have now and forever. The Venus Jacket in black and white tech tweed with a fur collar and the super futuristic green and blue holographic Rebecca Minkoff Elle bag must be mine. With tons of leather accents, a tomboy-like appeal and a modern touch, both of these items would fit into my wardrobe and be worn often. Rebecca is always in tune with her fans, the Minkettes, and to help tide us over until the entire Fall 2013 collection hits stores, Rebecca has hand selected a few items straight from the runway that you can buy now via Rebecca Minkoff online. Here’s a well-bundled, blizzard-proof Kyra Sedgwick, carrying a classic Balenciaga City Bag on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. This bag is available in a whopping 9 different colors for $1,545 at Neiman Marcus. Just a reminder to the general populous, while we’re at it – as we reported two months ago, Balenciaga’s rose gold hardware bags are being phased out, so snatch those up while you still can!

Balenciagas are great and all, but I’m more distracted by the cookie Kyra’s carrying, because I suspect that it may be from Levain Bakery, which is near the Fairway in the and, according to common lore, has the best chocolate chip cookies. Great, now I really want a cookie.Last week, Vlad and I went to Woodbury Commons, which is one of my favorite places to shop because even though it’s an outlet mall, it has some of the most incredible outlets in the world – think Oscar de la Renta, Gucci, Balenciaga. Whenever we want to expand our wardrobes, we always take a trip to Woodbury Commons to see if it has anything to offer, because even though outlets are hit or miss, the possibility of a hit is always alluring. Last week, though, was a major hit – Vlad left Woodbury with practically an entire new Rag & Bone wardrobe. The R+B outlet didn’t offer louis vuitton canada online many accessories and the leather-sleeved varsity jackets that I so covet were nowhere to be found, so I hopped on their website when I got home to peruse even more.Turns out that Rag & Bone knows its Pilot Bag is quite the hit, because now the brand is making a clutch version. Available in five colorways, the clutch features Italian leather and an optional adjustable shoulder strap, which allows for easy transformation into a shoulder bag. I’m digging the distinctive hardware and the overall Rag & Bone aesthetic that is infused into the design. In fact, I expect to see Rag & Bone starting to garner growing attention in the contemporary accessory world. My only issue right now is figuring out which option is my favorite. The price is great and the dimensions are super roomy. It was a bit of a rough weekend for all of us in New York, but we’ve dug ourselves out and life is more or less back to normal now. Personally, I used my days inside to cook a pot roast, re-watch lots of episodes of The West Wing on Netflix and wander around the Internet in search of things to impulse-order. Thankfully, my wallet was clear across the apartment when I laid eyes on the pre-owned and vintage bags that Heritage Auctions has up for sale via Moda Operandi. Now that would have been a concerned phone call from American Express if there ever were one.

If you’ve worked up an appetite for shopping or browsing over the past few days, you’re in luck. The Vintage Hermes from Heritage Auctions sale runs through February 17, and we’ve gathered our favorite bags from the selection below for our viewing pleasure. If you decide to splurge, do it quickly – there’s only one of each of these covetable pieces to go around. If you’re a bit of a magpie, listen up – we’ve got enough shine and glitter to keep you entertained for minutes on end, thanks to the retro-modern box clutchery of Edie Parker. Contrary to what the midcentury styling and name of the brand might indicate, the brand is named after designer Brett Heyman’s daughter, not Edie Sedgwick or Jack Kerouac’s wife. When you consider the brand’s aesthetic, though, the name makes sense – it sounds like it could be someone incredibly chic great aunt, who would be exactly the kind of woman to pass a timeless vintage clutch down to her grand niece. Not blessed with a particularly chic relation from whom to receive such vintage finds? No worries, you can pick up one of these babies brand new on NeimanMarcus.com. You can skip straight to shopping, or if you’d rather, Louis Vuitton Bagswe’ve assembled a slideshow of highlights below. With vintage styling combined with modern finished, though, the entire collection is a highlight.I know it’s my job to know these things, but I’d like to go ahead and admit that I wasn’t even really aware that Dolce & Gabbana made men’s bags until I laid eyes on the Dolce & Gabbana Full-Grain Leather Messenger. Of course I assumed that the brand did, but I don’t think I had ever seen one, let alone sought one out for evaluation; Dolce’s men’s suits and shoes are simply far more spotlight-stealing than the rest of the line. At first blush, this bag’s a lot less Dolce-looking than I would have expected. If you’re familiar with the brand’s women’s bags, then you probably see some of the DNA of the Dolce & Gabbana Miss Sicily Satchel in this design. The top handle structure and overall proportion are similar, as is the banding at the top where the top handle is attached (although it doesn’t extend across the entire bag on the Miss Sicily). The bags diverge, though, when Dolce adds some distinctly masculine details to this bag – the schoolboy front straps, the tough-looking leather, the larger size.Had I been shown this bag without context, I wouldn’t have guessed it were Dolce & Gabbana, and I suppose that’s my biggest beef with the design. It’s missing the slick, luxurious Italian quality that I associate with the brand, and it has almost a “heritage” look to it, which isn’t really what I want from a brand know for sexy, expensive garments for both genders. If it tickles your fancy, though,
